Well, although I do have a vivid imagination I can't picture what the story possibly is going to be.... Karan Johar and his odd ideas....

Beautiful movie with Irrfan Khan. He give an absolutely fantastic performance! SRK is not the main character but he delivers the climax in the end. I cried my heart out (although it was truly hard-core SCHMALTZ!) And it's in fact really funny that they completly blatanly use filmclips and film posters of SRKs movies!!

Fantastic music! (Farah's choreography is always the same but the songs are good to watch.)

A MUST-SEE!! I absolutely love it!

It's a real shame that the movie failed at the Indian Box Office!! Maybe it is too quiet for the average moviegoer.....

Best Bollywood movie I've seen lately!! This one has it all! A beautiful story with (almost) no logical gaps. A lot to laugh you a** off and so endearing in the end that you uncontrollably start to sob. Fantastic music and brilliant dance scenes.

I loved it a lot more than OSO despite SRK's sixpack there!!!

A completely over-the-top-movie about the Indian Film Industry in the 70ths and today. This movie is FUN FUN FUN. And nothing else. Of course there is a love story, one that lasts two lifetimes and gets a unusual conclusion. And also some scenes to make you weep but the main thing is the fun in making movies, in telling stories, in not-taking-oneself-seriously. The whole movie is absolutely tongue-in-cheek.

It is not neccessary to specially mention SRK's sixpack, is it? *megadrool*

I LOVE IT!!!

SRK is a field hockey coach for the Indian National Women's Team. SRK looks drop dead georgeous!! And he acts wonderfully!

A really serious story without any dance scenes but perfect sport- and team spirit! The music is brilliant but only played in the background. An unusual Indian movie but nevertheless a MUST-SEE!!

Very stylish!! The old story stayed untouched but this version adds a new twist!!

The story is hard to digest, at least according to my stomach. But you like every character, even SRKs although his character is the only which has distinctive negative aspects one cannot ignore and hardly tolerate.

The movie has a good amount of humour but the tragic and the impotence of all the people involved outweighs the fun.

Summary: Life is not always what you expect and it isn't always fair. And the love of your life might find you after you are already married. It is nobody's fault, it hurts and you have to cope with it while trying to minimize the pain for everybody.

I cannot say I love the movie but I regard it as an extraordinary one. (And I must admit that SRK's looks are absolutely stunning. He is out-of-this-world-sexy in this movie!)

A lot of American SRK-Fans were active as extras during the shoot! Exciting!!!

The soundtrack is beautiful! One of my all time favorites.

India the way it really is. Seen by a NRI who has almost lost his roots in his native country. The story is very honest and shows what needs to be changed and reformed but it does it very lovingly. Resume: You love your country and your people so come together, forget all differences and start to build something new and better! 

Wonderful!! And if you ever thought about buying a soundtrack... this is the one you just have to have! The music is fantastic!!!

The story about an Indian pilot and a Pakistani girl who meet, fall in love and go separate ways knowing they will love each other forever. He makes the ultimate sacrifice for his love to insure her safety and - eventual - happiness until he himself and his love  are rescued from their desperation by a Pakistanian attorney (Rani).

God, I cried so much in the end!! Your heart lives through every possible feeling in this story: joy, happiness, love, desperation, hope and finally relief. My heart broke and was beautifully mended again. *sniff*

SRK and his wife Gauri founded Red Chillies Entertainment to produce Farah Khan's first movie as a director. And you can see this movie was made with love and friendship in mind and heart!

It was uncompleted for almost 10 years when suddenly in 2003 the producers decided to film some new sequences (without SRK), finish the movie and make a lot of money with it.

SRK wasn't even willing to dub the movie. So even in Hindi you cannot hear his voice!! He appears after approx. 20 min. for no real reason and then again at the very end. In between is only a tiring and rather crude story.

I haven't seen it myself but all my friends told me exactly this.

In almost all reviews the movie is  qualified as senseless boring movie!

For whatever price this movie is offered to you: IT MIGHT NOT BE WORTH IT!!!

The story of Naina who lives with her Mum, brother, sister and Grandma in New York. She feels the responsibility for her family lies on her shoulders alone since her father died. Suddenly Aman visits his uncle who lives nearby and everything changes.. Aman is nosy, curious, knows everything and wants to know everything. But he is so charming, lively and actually helpful that he wins every heart by storm.

He emittes life and love like an energy plant but he has a secret only his mother and one other person know.

Aman feels that Naina should marry her best friend Rohit who loves her dearly and he does everything to make the marriage happen. But what about Aman's heart? (Yes, this is a pun!)

Well, I don't know about you but I cried the whole movie. During the happy scenes because they were too beautiful to bear and during the sad scenes because my heart just broke into.

I love this movie!!!

A story with two happy endings. The first part is typical Bollywood and typical SRK.

The second part shows reality and how a married couple tries to cope with their different backgrounds, upbringings and the hardships of life.

Hankies ready!! SRK is so endearing!! Needless to say what I did.... *sniff*

Hamlet in Hindi. The cast is brilliant. SRK, Aish and Madhuri give fantastic performances in dancing and acting. Jackie Shroff is a great addition to the cast (I like him a lot!)

The facilities, the environment, the equipment - everything is opulent and beautiful... It's the story and the especially the ending I don't like. It feels ultimately futile to me. Such a waste!

It took 6 years to finalise this movie.... You can easily see that when you closely watch Salman's hairstyle throughout the movie..... It changes in every scene from: a lot of hair to less hair and vice versa.. *lol*

I'm not really fond of Salman. He is made to dance too often here, and IMHO he just cannot dance!!

But SRK as jealous husband and a horse which lends two ears to ease his pain.. He really made my day! Soooo lovely!!

Karan Johar directing... what do you expect? Family, deep feelings, sacrifice, tears and of course: a corny happy ending.

The movie lasts 3,5 hrs (!) but not a second is boring! Karan surrounded himself with the Best-of-the-Best: Amitabh, Jaya, Kajol, his best friend SRK, Hritik, Kareena and Farah Khan for the songs.

The story is very traditional Hindi culture: Family comes first, the father decides everything and his wife and children obey without any resistance.  But what happens when love crosses his plans and a child just cannot - not even if he truly tries to kill the feeling inside - forsake the love of his life to obey his father?

Keep your hankies ready for this one!!

The uncut version by REM is out now (April 06). It should be like the TV screening at RTL 2 which was very good.

Very ambitious movie about Asoka the Great. A true story about a prince who run berserk because he is told his wife was killed. He kills his deceitful brothers, claims his fathers throne and starts to conquer every country around him until finally he realises what ill he has done and becomes a faithful Buddhist. Asoka is still a famous holy man in India.

It needed several screenings for me to like the story. But SRK is just so convincing and acts so fantastic that I hadn't had any other choice but to love it in the end.

DVD Germany: Will be out from 15th May 06 on by REM.

I don't know anything about the features and languages on this DVD. I do hope it will also have Hindi with German Subtitles but I didn't read this at amazon.de... You can pre-order the DVD already.

Very funny! And very romantic!

When Jackie is killed SRK has to take care of his 4 children (3 own and a cousin) which is difficult because all 4 hate him and he himself had never cared for children. And he still has to search the killer of his best friend to whom he had looked up to as a father figure...

Love, unconditional. That's what the story boils down to.

In fact in this movie 4 different love stories are told. Every story is nice and the young actors do a pretty good job.

But the most sensitive and emotional story is told by "the old gang": Amithab, SRK and Ash. As so often SRK made me cry. He broke my heart with grief for him and mended it again with love. Pure, immaculate love such as that which is almost mind-boggling because I really don't believe in eternal love of that kind. But HE made me believe. Incredible!!

Some describe this story as Hindi version of "West Side Story" or "Romeo and Juliet" but I think this description is not entirely accurate.

First the parallels: There are two gangs: A gang of Hindu boys and a gang of Christian boys. And both fight against each other over their territory, money, business, girls and whatever else.

The brother of the Christian gang leader falls in love with the twin sister of the Hindu gang leader. Of course this leads to fights and in the end there is a murder.

But I think that's about it. Besides that I think it's firstly a story about love between siblings, family and familylike bonds and secondly a (more accurately: two) common lovestory(ies).

And of course there is dancing and singing. SRK is actually singing one song hmself, well, kind of.... "Apun Bola", very funny! The music is very Portuguese since Goa (where the story takes place) was Portuguese territory for a long time.

SRK dances like a God!!! So brilliant! And he looks really dashing throughout the movie! So much to drool about!! *yummy*

This movie is more like two movies made in one. The first part is hilariously funny with SRK, a TV reporter, as Elvis-look-a-like, at a beauty contest, in a wellness club (doing Aerobics in tights!!) while trying to win Juhi (a competing TV reporter) over.

The second part is an ambitious call for more accurate coverage, against corruption in politicts and the media.

The movie was a flop at the Indian boxoffice. I'm sure because the media resented to be unmasked so explicitly.

I for my part enjoyed myself a lot!! I cannot help but recommend this movie!

If you are willing to overlook some absurd illogical turns and twists here and just go for pure fun then this is a movie for you.

This movie is chaotic. (A little too much for my taste...)

In the end it becomes very emotional and dramatic and that's when I started to really enjoy myself.

I loved all the dance numbers which are fantastically choreographed. And I just loved how SRK proofs what an awesome dancer he is!  No other man could swing his hips like that and look sooooo stunningly virile and sexy!

The story is TOUGH in capital letters!! The ending is tragic but consequential.

You will see here terrorism, violence, civil war, children brainwashed to become soldiers, mutilation of girls and women. The story is ambitious, it is political and valuable but I couldn't bear it!

BUT: The music and the dance numbers in this movie made moviehistory!! They are out-of-this-world-fantastic!!!

Chaiya Chaiya, Satrangi Re and Dil Se Re.... It's compulsory that you see and hear them!!

Don't miss them!

Well, it's a sweet story but it doesn't make me overenthusiastic. It's Karan Johar... This should be enough to enlighten you.

Very stylish, very emotional and very twisted with a tearsome Happy Ending (of course...)

SRK twice in one movie! What more could you wish for??? ..... Well, maybe a good story?? And humor which is not like Jerry Lewis or Louis de Funes???

O.k., I admit I'm the person who loves black, wry, deadpan, caustic humor. If you are the same... maybe you should wait until you are in the right mood for this movie.

But if you like Jerry Lewis, Louis de Funes or Jim Carey (just when it comes to making weird faces...) then this is just the movie for you!

French version: also dubbed in French (really weird!)

Love and friendship, and how one could possibly confuse the one with the other. And also that there IS the ONE for you out there somewhere. You just have to recognize him or her.

A musical with superb dance numbers, beautiful songs.

For those who really look closely: Shahid Kapoor is one of the background dancers. He wasn't even thinking about an acting career then.

And I will always love any movie with Madhz and SRK in it!!

SKR again as knight in shining armour. Selfless, selfsacrifing, honest even to the point of loosing everything he was ever yearning for.

Very funny and philosophical story about two poor persons who want to become rich, the ways they choose and the descisions they make to reach that goal.... That is: If it really is what they want. AND if they are really willing to pay any price for it...

Juhi and SRK are as always: A perfect match!!

One of my absolute favorite movies!! Madhz and SRK!

SRK starts of as mute, honest, hardworking bondslave of a ruthless landowner and ends as merciless and fearless avenger who fights for his love, his devastated youth and the rights of his fellow men.....

VERY high drool-factor!!! OMiGod!! He is sooooo sexy!

SRK is a simplehearted guy from Ratschastan who comes to the big town in search for medical help for his father. Here he finds situations, people, GIRLS that he simply cannot understand and classify as for what they really are until it is too late. He is forced to sacrifice his real love to save his father's life but that's not nearly the end of the story....

The story of an innocent country bumpkin who has to grow up and adjust to real life the hard way and fight for all what's important in his life while finding again his integrity and honor.

If you have loved Koyla you would surely love this one, too!!!

German DVD:  BEWARE!! The German translation is NOT accurate! Some meanings are the absolute opposite! And I heard that the German subs are also really marginal. I would recommend to buy the Hindi-DVD.

Really tragic story about a boy who was found by a wise man in the gutter. This man named him Ram Jaane (=God knows).

Ram Jaane is all alone. He lives on the streets and there are only three persons who care for him: the wise man (who dies soon), Murli and Bela. The police is corrupt.

Ram Jaane soon finds out that nobody will give him what he needs or wants until he grabs it by himself. So Ram Jaane becomes a ruthless killer who uncompromisingly goes through with the orders he is given and the goals he has set for himself.

Only when it comes to the persons he loves and whom he trusts unconditionally he is loyal and willing to give his life without a second thought. Those are Murli and Bela (and the gangster boss who took care of him as a child).

This is no usual SRK story. But what is really special with all the characters he plays: You cannot but love him, no matter whether he is a good guy or a bad guy.

SRK manages to give his character so many layers of different pecularities that you can always find things to adore.

His Ram Jaane is a mastermind and ultracool, sassy, insulting, cheeky. Like a cat he plays with his victims before he kills them without mercy. But since he never received any mercy why should he show some to others?

But in the end when everything comes to a consequential conclusion, when all he has left is his cool semblance to the world he sacrifices even this for his best friend.

I cried so much for Ram Jaane who was so good at heart but saw himself as worthless as trash. He never really had a chance. He treated the world as everybody was treating him: like trash....

*spoiler*          

That's why he didn't mind in the least being hanged in the end. I think he was just relieved that this rotten live was about to end. If it were to go on he would try to life it as good and wealthy as possible but so....

The movie which made SRK and Kajol the dreamteam of bollywood and SRK a superstar. This movie is still running in India and is therefore the longest running movie of the Subcontinent until now!

The movie has two parts: In the first half of the movie Raj and Simran get to know each other. VERY FUNNY!!! Raj falls in love but is unable to tell her his feelings. And Simran is to inexperienced to realise it by herself. In the second half both know that they love each other. And Raj tries to win her family over and to prevent Simran's marriage with Kuljit (an arrogant guy who just wants to keep his wife at home and plans to go for fun and other women despite being married).

It is a very traditional Indian story: Your parents know what is best for you and you have to trust their decision. So give them all the facts and trust them to decide right..

Raj is always clowning around and you wouldn't think he could take anything seriously but he is out to surprise you!

A MUST-SEE for every SRK-fan!

Oh well..... Silly movie with nice parts in between. Amrish Puri is sooo mean and his evil plan is just too idiotic so he is good for a few laughs...

German Version (May 2006) (cannot wait to watch it!!!)

The story starts a bit silly with Anupham as ridiculous inspector. The first scenes with SRK and Ravena are spoken in rhymes to illustrate the inspector's fantasies.

From then on it starts to be extremely funny and eventually romantic. Good and witty dialogues!!!

One of my favorites!

Great dancing! The story is o. k. if you are willing to oversee some logical gaps.

The bad guy seems to have arisen from a loony bin or directly out of a comic strip. When he is killed in the end I was mostly relieved that he couldn't annoy me anymore.

Fantastic story!!! I absolutely love it!!

A rather violent story about ruthless relatives, murder, deceit and revenge through reincarnation. Brilliant!!

Very violent.... I will watch it again...Up to now I couldn't find my liking to this movie....

A kind of "Little Lord Fauntleroy" with SRK in a supporting role and Jackie Shroff as the rich uncle.

Fantastic thriller! The end gives you the shivers! And just to warn you: It's really BLOODY. 

SRK as mentally unstable Stalker. He's just great! You should fear him, maybe you should even hate him for what he's doing but you cannot but feel sorry for him.

Sunny Deol never acted again alongside SRK because he suspected the scriptwriter and the director to shift the fame to SRK because everybody just loved him. His hero character should have been the star of the movie but in fact it was SRK's character: the bad guy!!!

A MUST-SEE!

I had bought the DVD from an ebay-vendor (bollywood-online-store, it is now an ebay-shop called India-online-store but they also opened a real shop in Berlin, Germany) but it wouldn't play on any of my DVD-players. Got it exchanged to no avail. On a closer look it appeared to me as not genuine. So I decided to give up buying Hindi-movies at ebay  for good! Now I've placed an order with nehaflix.com. They are quick and definetely don't sell piracy!!

The story of an adolescent who comes to Mumbay to become a rich man no matter the costs.

Raju transformes from a naive country boy to an honest lover and then as he finally gets the job he was longing for he is getting himself involved with corruption, sabotage and betrayal. Even as his fiancee leaves him for the bad deeds he is conniving it needs deaths to bring him to his senses and back to honesty and his love again.

Nice movie with a charming and suffering SRK.

Cover again a complete sham package!!

First released movie of SRK. You'll have to wait for more than half the movie before you get to see and enjoy him finally! But he really saves the whole movie!

I really do have a problem to regard Rishi Kapoor as romantic lead... Sorry, I just cannot convince myself to that!

SRK has a chance to be a real knight. Honourable, honest, true, romantic, selfless and brave. *sigh* Such a darling!!!

But how can they really dare to place SRK and his wife Gauri on the DVD cover!!!  This really sucks IMHO!!! And I don't know who that other girl is...

Nice little story with a brillliant Naseeruddin and an endearing SRK. They are always a good team in every movie together!

The songs and the choreography.... well, you have to be VERY  tolerant in that compartment. They are just not good.....

The love story also rather sweet. So a nice movie but not a brilliant one....

Well, SRK is sweet and in love. The story itself...... well, kind of o.k. but nothing more.

The late Divya Bharati is sweet and unhappy and in danger. (And - please don't shoot me! - I think she cannot dance!!! How she could be working as famous dancer in this movie is complete mystery to me!!!)

SRK is the presenter of the different love stories. (And he is doing some jokes in between) But that's it. The reviews of the movie are not too good but I cannot tell you my own view until I've seen it..... I've only seen some of SRK's scenes.

Tiresome story for my taste. SRK appears at the very end and has a really endearing scene. Very nice and funny!

Only barely 10 minutes of SRK at the very end. But the movie itself is good.

And SRKs small part is really endearing! He plays along with Tabu. Loved it!

VERY violent story with Karishma running around screaming most of the time (with reason!). Nana who was the good guy in Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman is THE bad guy here.

SRKs part is actually not really important but quite large regarding this..... The end is violent, too.

Not my kind of movie but the Isqh Kameena song with Aish is fantastic!

SRK is doing a dance number with Madhz. VERY NICE! But that's all there is to be seen of him here.

The movie itself is very stylish and artificial. No real story actually but a feast for the eyes.

I fell asleep after a short while during my first try to watch the movie. That's not a good sign. I like Rani and Preity but often do have a problem with Salman. I gave the movie a second chance and endured it till the end.

Don't kill me but I still think that Sallu cannot dance! And what I found really annoying in this movie were his constant high cries like Michael Jackson..... Rather ridiculous IMHO.

SRK has two scenes there. One as a disturbed widower who cannot overcome the death of his wife. (His daughter from KKHH has also a cameo here as his daughter.) And in the end he is playing an accordion together with Salman. This was surely to pay back Salmans cameo in KKHH.

Though movie about the riots in India during Mahathma Ghandis time. The story of a Hindu who turns into an extremist out of pain and sorrow and forsakes his true friends and family in his quest for senseless revenge. Will he listen to his former best friend (SRK) and return to reason?

Extreme violence and extreme fanatics. SRK finally "rescues" the Muslim's  honour by being true, brave and unselfish.

Definitely NO MOVIE for a romantic and happy evening! But SRK is great! (As usual...)

Oh, well..... what can I say....  Other than I cannot believe that SRK on the cover of both DVDs could save that movie.... It's watchable IMHO but that's about it.

Remake of Brian De Palma's "Body Double"

About 30 seconds of SRK in the very beginning of the movie. A dreamscene where Deepak dreams of his success in becoming a filmstar.

It is really detestable IMHO that the German DVD cover are destined to totally mislead the prossible buyer... The 2nd cover is a pic from the movie Devdas! Can you imagine????

I'm not so into military movies... but one can easily see why SRK became one of the main characters in the plot. He is just too charming to be left in the background. In fact the part of his older brother was supposed to be the main character at the beginning but SRKs presence changed that quickly!

The image and sound quality of both DVDs is rather poor. But one has to consider that it's a rather old TV series.....

On ebay some vendors try to tell you that all 13 parts of the series are on one DVD. DON'T BUY THOSE!!! Those are definetly piracy DVDs!!!

Please do buy from real shops or at least check the user comments to those vendors! Otherwise you will be cheated!

Obivously SRK is doing a gay character. I'm trying to get a video tape of it!
